Us
WomenRise for Global Peace began when a small group of 10 women, aged
35 to 94 started meeting weekly in July 2002 to have conversations because
of their frustration with the world situations. We brainstormed WomenRise
for Global Peace. We realized that the power of conversation, the Internet
and individual networking can generate the energy and numbers to make
an impact.
WomenRise for Global Peace remains a small group with several spin-off
groups. It has no official business structure and raises the funds when
needed for specific projects. “WomenRise Guys” often join
in our conversations and projects.
